Strand Park is an ocean-front area of Townsville, and over the Christmas season it is transformed into an interactive stage, to create the town of Bethlehem. Recreations of historical scenes occur and you can wander past people dressed up from the time, including Roman soldiers, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus himself.

There are lots of activities for the entire family, including young children who will find delight in everything they see. There is even livestock that they can view, pat and play with, camels, wool weaving and pottery.

The area of Strand Park is set up with multiple stages that present singing, dancing and performance. In the effort of educating the community about Christianity, Christmas and the birth of Jesus, The Stable on the Strand festival presents a delightful experience that will stay in your memory into the New Year ahead. It is well worth a visit and you might even find yourself going back another day for more.
