Tips for Christmas in July

Christmas in July can mean whatever you want it to mean, but most importantly you should be having a lots of fun. Christmas in the middle of the year is an irony, but that is why it is so special. The idea is that such a special event shouldn’t be saved for one time in there year, so make the most of every day you have. Christmas can be celebrated at any time you like.

One of the main reasons that Christmas in July is popular in countries such as Australia and New Zealand is that this is the time of the year that it is cold. In the UK and USA, Christmas is celebrated when it is cold and snowing. This makes it a time of winter feasts, huddling in doors over open fires, and lots of warm and tasty treats.

If you are living in a country where Christmas is celebrated in Summer, then you might warm to the idea of Christmas in July because you will have the opportunity to get out your winter woollies and indulge in winter treats like Christmas pudding and hot roasts. You will enjoy spending the season just like the other countries do in winter, so you won’t feel as though you are missing out.

Also, it works in reverse. If you normally celebrate Christmas in winter, then why not have a change of heart and host a Christmas in the heat. You can learn from countries like Australia, by getting out the ice cream, cold meats and salads, and heading to the beach.

We want you to celebrate Christmas in July with enthusiasm, so we have created some top tips to ensure that you enjoy the day, and make the most of an off-season special occasion. Remember that you can also get together with family and friends and decide on unique and special ways to celebrate it yourselves.

Always have a Christmas tree

Artificial trees are great because they are easy to store and set up. They don’t take long to decorate and they can really make your entire home a wonderful place to be in. Remember, if you are buying a new Christmas tree, you’ll be able to use it for my Christmas periods to come. It is a great investment.

Gather your friends and family around

Get as many members of your family together and also invite your friends to a Christmas feast. This can be the perfect time to introduce friends and family with each other, as Christmas in July can be more about socialising with everyone, not just the relatives that you are closest to.

Eat seasonal foods

Create a feast that embraces the season you are in. If you are in winter, you’ll enjoy a traditional Christmas feast including roasts and puddings. If you are in summer then you can spend less time cooking, and more time indulging in salads, meats and icy deserts.
